His breath has slowed and his eyes fight back a stinging burn of tears,
He can count the days forward but can’t make up for the last seven years.
He can feel his heartbeat but can’t hush his fears.
He had to admit he had her all wrong,
He thought she had forgot their favorite song.
He thought she was were she didn’t belong.
But she was where she was supposed to be all along.
She didn’t forget their song and now she knew how to sing it too,
She sang her way through the bullshit just to make it through.
She sang a red string of fate right back to you.
Because she knows a love like this is nearly extinct and few.
As she waits for him to come take her hand,
To gaze into the ocean and play in the sand,
To share a love and life that’s oh so grand.
I have been waiting on this dream for so long,
Please tell me you haven’t forgotten or song?
